Antitrust and Competition Law department opening

    May 3, 2023

With the end of the holiday season and onset of spring, times signifying renewal, blossoming and prosperity, we are delighted to announce that Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co. continues its expansion and is merging into its ranks an antitrust and competition law department.

At the helm of our antitrust and competition law department will stand Adv. Dana Tirangel Lipka. Dana possesses vast experience in both the private and public sectors and has served for 10 years in various positions within the Competition Authority. Dana represents large, local, and international clients across a diverse range of sectors, including retail, food, real estate, energy, hi-tech, transportation and more. Prior to joining us, Dana managed the competition and restrictive trade practices department at the law firm of Yossi Levy & Co.

During her years with the Competition Authority, Dana engaged in enforcement and promotion of competition through all market sectors. There, she held various managerial positions in which she coordinated monetary sanctions against those in violation of the Competition Law, and where she led legislation efforts to promote competition in the food sector.

In her last position with the Competition Authority, Dana served as Senior Head of Team within the Authority’s legal department. In this position, she led significant enforcement cases through their various stages, including, against Schestowitz Company in relation to their position as importer of Colgate products, cases of monetary sanctions against SOS, Shufersal, Bezeq and Coca Cola, as well as the appeal against the approval of the merger of the Israel National Gas Lines in relation to the export of gas to Egypt.

Dana holds an LL.B. and LL.M., magna cum laude, from the Tel Aviv University, as well as a M.B.A. in Finance, magna cum laude, from the Tel Aviv University as well.

Joining Dana’s team are Advocates Kobi Arad and Or Elkayam, who currently work with her. Kobi and Or both interned in the Competition Authority and continued practicing in this field – Kobi having worked with Dana at Yossi Levy & Co. and Or, having served in the Administrative Enforcement Department of the Competition Authority and thereafter having worked with Dana at Yossi Levy & Co. Kobi and Or possess diverse experience in competition law and restrictive trade practices from both the private and public sectors.

We are confident that the knowledge and well-earned reputation of Dana and her team will lead our antitrust and competition law department to new heights and great opportunities, for the benefit of our clients and our firm’s continued growth.

We wish Dana and her team a warm welcome and great success!
