    Petition to the Israeli High Court of Justice Against the Automatic Mechanism of Increasing Property Taxes, Instituted by the Ministry of Interior in 2012

    The petition was filed by advocates Asaf Biger and Assaf Oren from our Litigation and Dispute Resolution department, on behalf of the Manufactures Association.
    According to Adv. Biger, partner, the automatic mechanism is scandalous, since each application should be examined individually; granting automatic approvals turns the Ministry’s activity into a “rubber stamp”.
    According to Adv. Biger, “The authorities see that the Ministry of Interior generally grants approvals to increase property taxes, as requested by them, and therefore they continue to try their luck and request increases. That is the reason that many applications are piling up”.
